Sometimes an intense exercise routine or a trip to the gym can be very daunting. I for one am already getting tired just thinking about it! So, I’ve thought of some really simple ways to become more active in my everyday schedule.
When you’re out shopping whether for groceries or other must-have items, try using the baskets instead of the carts. I love just plopping everything into my cart and pushing it around the store leisurely, but why not change it up a bit to really train my energy.
This is a super simple switch from a cart to a basket, and your body will become more familiar with being active before you even realise.
I’m always keeping a lookout for the closest parking spot to the entrance, but getting stuck with a spot further away from it isn’t a bad thing. Walking a bit further from your car to the store really does count as an exercise! Walking is a very underrated exercise, and it’s such a simple one too.
Taking the long way can do wonders for you and get your body use to being more active.
Cleaning?! How is cleaning going to helpme? I agree that cleaning is sometimes not the most exciting task on the list but don’t take it for granted. Not only are you using your entire body to get the place tidied up, you’ll be very happy with the end result of everything sparkling and new. It’s a 2 in 1 deal!
Don’t think your time spent scrubbing and sweeping went to waste when you see the untidiness piling up again. This only gives you another great opportunityto get your body moving again!
This is a very simple alternative for getting your body active. All you have to do is trade pressing the button for the elevator or standing on the escalator, for a trip up or down the stairs. It’s an easy one to do! The more stairs, the better. Don’t let them scare you!
Once you’ve completed your trek up the stairs take a look at the people who took the elevator or escalator and pat yourself on the back for that victory!
Now, who would be more active than your best pal? I’m talking about pets! I love my dog and nothing cheers me up more than throwing around his favourite squeaky toy. Not only will we both be having a blast but we’re both getting super active.
Animals have an endless amount of energy and when your feeling like you’ve been sittingdown on the couch too long, look for your pet to have a fun energetic time. This could be taking them on a walk or just playing around in your home.
Don’t jump straight into the gym if you’re not ready! Taking baby steps, even if they’re this simple, will really help you out! You’ll be on your way to becoming more active in no time.
